The Future is Now - or Almost Now

My friend and photographer, Jon Marion, (who has a very cool website, by the way, sent me this link from TED, which stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. This is a very cool site and one of the most forward thinking sites on the net - great to explore too. This video demo is about the future and the not too distant one at that. It shows this unbelievable technology about how we might be dealing with large numbers of images. The presentation is by super computer guru Blaise Aguera y Arcas who outlines the whole process in this fascinating video presentation.

It has been acclaimed as, "Perhaps the most amazing demo I've seen this year," wrote Ethan Zuckerman, after TED2007. Indeed, Photosynth might utterly transform the way we manipulate and experience digital images. It's only a few minutes long but it will "blow your mind" - the technology that's demonstrated - amazing!!! Here is the link to the TED video.
